JAMTSELING FOUNDATION OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

On 7 January 2025, the Jamtseling Foundation was officially launched at a grand ceremony in Thimphu's Lungtenzampa multipurpose hall. The Honourable Minister of Home Affairs was the Chief Guest at the event, which was attended by a distinguished gathering that included His Eminence Jeweon Rinpoche, the Chairman of the Jamtseling Foundation, Members of Parliament and the National Council from Trashiyangtse, officials from the Department of Culture and Dzongkha Development, local leaders from Mewang Gewog, Khenpos from various monasteries, faithful devotees, and sponsors.

A Milestone for Vajrayana Buddhism

During the inauguration, His Eminence Jeweon Rinpoche expressed profound gratitude to His Majesty the King and the Wangchuck Dynasty for their unwavering dedication to preserving and strengthening the teachings of Vajrayana Buddhism. His Eminence noted that Bhutan remains the only country in the world where the teachings of Vajrayana Buddhism continue to flourish as a national treasure under the compassionate leadership of His Majesty. He emphasised that establishing the Jamtseling Foundation is a significant step towards advancing His Majesty’s vision of promoting Buddhism, fostering spiritual well-being nationwide, and leading the globe.

Recognition by Choedey Lhentshog

In his keynote address, the Chief Guest congratulated the Jamtseling Foundation for completing the rigorous registration process under the Choedey Lhentshog. He presented a certificate of recognition, officially listing the Foundation among Bhutan’s registered religious organisations. The Chief Guest highlighted the numerous benefits associated with this recognition, including access to subsidies and institutional support. However, he reminded the Foundation of its responsibilities to adhere to its mandates and fulfil its commitments outlined by the Choedey Lhentshog.

Preserving Bhutan’s Spiritual Heritage
